Oppositioin leaders pick Martin Fayulu as joint presidential candidate

Martin Fayulu, the president of the ECIDE political party, was nominated on Sunday by seven prominent Congolese political leaders as the common candidate of the opposition for the December 23 presidential election.

Jean-Pierre Bemba, Moise Katumbi, Adolphe Muzito, Freddy Matungulu, Martin Fayulu, Vital Kamerhe and Felix Tshisekedi met in Geneva to designate the candidate that the opposition will support for the presidential election.

They also discussed a joint governing program, funding, and a joint campaign team.

The Kofi Annan Foundation mediated this meeting.
