Former Vice-President Jean-Pierre Bemba has been allowed by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to go to Brussels to attend a funeral mass for his father, Senator Jeannot Bemba Saolona, who died last Wednesday.

Senator Bemba Saolona was in Brussels when he passed away. He had attended a public hearing last Monday at the ICC on whether his son should be released or not before his trial.

His body will be flown back home to Kinshasa this week. He is set to be buried next week in Gemena, Equateur province.
