One day plea by Congolese women for equal representation

William SwingA one day plea, initiated by the Permanent Dialogue Framework of the Congolese Woman (CAFCO), for an equal man-woman representation within the National Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) was held on 7 December 2007, in the Palais de Peuple in Kinshasa. The aim is that members of Parliament respect the equality man-woman law in the bill on the CENI.
UNDP launches new electoral support project for the DRC

PNUD - CENIThe new United Nations Development Programme's PACE project, which will support and assist the DRC electoral cycle from 2007 to 2011, was launched in Kinshasa on 4 October 2007. Initially the US$151 million project aims to assist and support the organisation and holding of the DRC local elections, envisaged for 2008.
