Accusers say Kimbuta did not order murder of Botheti

The military tribunal trying the alleged killers of Kinshasa MP Daniel Botheti held its 9th hearing in the case at the Kokolo military base in Kinshasa on Tuesday. Patrick Mwewa, one of the seven defendants, who had accused Kinshasa governor Andre Kimbuta of ordering the assassination of Botheti , asked for forgiveness from the governor.

"I had mentioned the name of Governor Andre Kimbuta based on information that was given me. Now that the person who told me about it negates all, I do not know what to say other than to ask forgiveness, "said Patrick Mwewa soldier before the military court. Andre Kimbuta granted the request for forgiveness and asked the court to continue with its investigation of the case.

The hearing continued with the lawyers for the family of Daniel Botheti questioning the governor about his relation with Daniel Botheti.

The next hearing will be held on Wednesday.
